This week in reading workshop we learned about fix-up strategies readers use to to understand their just right books, such as re-reading, reading on, and picture clues. We also learned about Metacognition; which means "thinking about your thinking" when reading. Students practiced recording their thoughts using Metacognition thinking stems I'm thinking, I'm feeling, I'm seeing, I'm wondering, and I'm noticing. They used a giant thought bubble to share their thoughts.
